Here it is, the wee hours of November 1st. Time change happens overnight which means it will be 7am when I wake up at 8am. Cool. I had trick or treaters tonight even though my porch light was off. Two were in costume, the youngest, 5yrs or so, had no costume. There were 6 high schoolers or so. Completely not appropriate for the holiday. Oh yes, and they rang the doorbell about a jillion times. Against my gut reaction to NOT go to the door, there I went. I was trying to get in the Halloween spirit. It just wasn't happening this year.
The first year I haven't been torn between taking the kids around the neighborhood and staying home to pass out candy. I hope this year is an anomaly. I thought I would be back on track this year, after the 1st year post separation came to a close in June. I guess I need more time. I want it all and I want it now.
